ANATOMY OF AN ORGANIZATION

The body of every organization is structured from four kinds of bones:

There are the wishbones who spend all their time
wishing someone else would do the work

Then there are the jawbones who do all the talking but little else.

The knucklebones knock everything anyone else tries to do.

Fortunately in every organization, there are also the backbones
who get under the load and do most of the work.

We now have a new project of selling books at each of the meetings. We charge 50 cents for pocketbooks and two dollars for hard cover books. The money goes for cancer service and when the members are thru reading the books, they are resonated back to the chapter to be sold once again. This has been organized and chaired by past president Edie Simon and has been part of our meetings since last November.

Our December meeting once more will be delightful with members bringing gifts to be given to children in the Boca/Delray Area for the holidays.

The January meeting with our "gourmet" pot lunch will be even more exceptional than last year's with the members outdoing themselves in the culinary arts. Chaired by Vice President Alma Diggins- organizing, decorating and managing to obtain the variety of foods that will be available. If you miss this meeting, you will really miss out!!

A special Thank You to Bunny Krantz for soliciting and organizing our sale of Mah Jong Cards. The profit from the sale of these cards is just another way of "fund-raising."

Did you know that by combining the efforts of the chapters from Deerfield Beach, Plantation, Boca/Delray and West Palm Beach, that we were able to send a large group of children to Camp R.O.C.K (Reaching out to Cancer Kids.) This past summer 50 children went to this very special camp and these children had one week of fun and their parents felt comfortable knowing that they were being taken care of by doctors, nurses and all the people that watch over them. BE PROUD THAT YOU ARE PART OF THIS WONDERFUL WORK! If you are looking for an organization to join, why not join us in our wonderful projects.

For information on joining Boca Delray No. 73, contact either Betty Peyser at

Of course, we are all proud that this chapter's Financial Officer Betty Peyser was installed as 1st Vice President of the National Executive Board at this year's convention in Plantation.  She will be installed in 2009 as National President.  Our chapter has three members on the National Executive Board.
