Tucson #71 was founded in 1983 in Tucson,
Arizona. This chapter works diligently to
help those in their area diagnosed with Cancer
or AIDS, assisting them and their families. In
addition they undertake other philanthropic
projects. In the short time that they have
been in existence, they have made their mark in
the community and have been recognized for their
charitable projects.
We are sponsoring our second Psycho-Social Program at TuNidito Women's and Children's services, consulting with their social service department. We meet the daily needs of the families. We are continuing our program at UMC Radiation Oncology. In addition, we sponsored a much needed counseling conference for Candlelighters also sending the families to camp. We have joined the newly formed Cancer Coalition designed to cover as many cancer patients as possible, primarily to discuss the various ways to get help for the cancer patient.
FYI TuNidito was a former Children's Hospice. Need is greater for the children to get pre-hospice help.
For information on events, membership meetings,
or information on joining, please contact the
President at the above number. |
